Recent Sewing Projects

Hello! Well, I've been away from this lovely blog and I've realized a few things. I love to sew. I love taking pictures of my kids but I'm not that excited about blogging anymore. It takes so much time to edit photos, think of what to write and in my limited time I'd rather be creating and sewing (or cleaning but we won't talk about that). So my posts may be infrequent or they may be like this--photos taken from my phone, a quick overview, written on my phone using an app (so I can't add links) and sometimes a little more! That's what works for this phase of my life and I'm okay with that! I post frequently on Instagram (@apriljboyer) so you can follow me there.

So, first of all is that I've opened an etsy shop! Sage & Sparrow Kids (also on IG @sageandsparrowkids). I want to be able to continue to sew even when my kids a closer full of handmade clothes so this will satisfy my desire to create! Right now I'm of freeing vintage-inspired capes and bonnets. I'm working on a dress for Spring/Summer as well!

I'm in love with Shetland flannel fabric. I make the capes with it, I've made myself a jacket and I had to get Henri in on it as well. So I made him this adorable jacket withShetland flannel in Olive, lined with a brown cotton and I used a fleece as accent pieces. I love this jacket so much! (Pattern is the Desmond Jacket by Shwin Designs)

This gray and black striped knit fabric has been staring at me from my stash. So I decided to make the ladies Caroline dress (Mouse House Creations) for myself. I made a size 8 but with the knit I should have gone down a size so the fit would be better. But it's very comfortable as is!

I have a few more projects to share and I'm trying some new things this year that I'm excited about. Hope you are having a wonderful year so far!
